Vasotec Dosage Information

The typical dosage for Vasotec varies depending on a patient’s response to the treatment and severity of disease. It is important to follow your doctor’s advice properly and consume just the required dose of the medication correctly. Vasotec may be consumed along with a meal or even on an empty stomach. It is common for doctors to change the dosage recommendations during treatment after evaluating a patient’s response to the medication. In most cases when a patient is responding well to the medicine lower doses are recommended.
b.) Missing a dose
When you realize that you have missed a dose, it is important to inform your doctor immediately. In certain cases doctors may advise you to take a replacement dose and continue with the normal dosage when the next dose is due. However, when you miss a dose make sure there is adequate time or at least four to five hours left for your next due dose before taking a replacement dose. Taking a replacement dose too close to your actual dose may lead to an overdose or other discomfort.
If you consume more than the required quantity of the medication within a short period of time it may lead to an overdose. Typical symptoms of an overdose include uncontrolled vomiting, severe headache, stomach pain, diarrhoea, confusion, dizziness etc. It is important to seek medical help when you realize that you have overdosed or if you suffer from any of the symptoms mentioned above. An overdose may severely affect your condition or health problem and it is therefore important to follow your doctor’s dose recommendations properly.

This will enable the doctor to prescribe the right dosage based on your health condition. Inform your doctor of any other medicines you are on before consuming Vasotec in order to avoid interactions. If you are being scheduled for a surgery, always inform the doctor or surgeon that you are taking Vasotec. You may accordingly be advised to stop the medicine temporarily if you are undergoing a serious surgery.
