It is also important to note that the dosage is also influenced by a patient’s age and gender to a certain extent. Furthermore, if a patient is already on any other kind of medication then lower doses may have to be prescribed depending on the kind of medication he is already on.
b.) Missing a dose
If you miss a dose it is advisable to replace it immediately when you realize. However if less than four hours remain between the time you realize you missed a dose and the next dose it is important to avoid taking a replacement medicine so close in the time frame. Continue with the normal course of dosage and seek medical advice if you experience any discomfort irrespective of it.

You may need to seek immediate medical help if you experience severe discomfort, difficulty in breathing, nausea, vomiting, extreme stomach pain, diarrhea, dizziness, fainting spells etc. It is important to consume the right dosage as required for your condition and as specified by the doctor. Higher doses or cases of overdosing may sometimes prove to be fatal.

Patients suffering from high blood pressure should avoid taking Sensipar because it may lead to further complications. Heart patients should avoid taking the medicine because it may lead to heart attacks or stroke with regular use. People suffering from liver disease or kidney disease should avoid Sensipar because it may further complicate existing conditions in the organs. Furthermore patients on any kind of heart, liver or kidney medication should avoid Sensipar because the drugs may interact creating more complications. The medicine works better when taking along with meals or right after regular meals. It is safer and better to consume the pill as a whole and not crush it and have it. It is advisable to undergo regular blood tests when on the medication to verify if it is positively treating the condition or not. If it isn’t you may need to have higher doses or combine it with other medications for effective treatment. Some of the side effects may be fatal if not treated on time. It is advisable to seek medical help if you experience any discomfort that lasts for more than a couple of hours. In severe cases hospitalization may be required. Pregnant women and women nursing new born babies should avoid taking the medicine or do so only if required but under strict medical supervision.
