Prevacid Solu Tabs Drug Description
Prevacid Solu Tabs are delayed release orally disintegrating tablets. The generic name of Prevacid Solu Tabs is lansoprazole and the IUPAC name is 2-[[[3-methyl-4-(2,2,2-trifluoroethoxy)-2-pyridyl] methyl] sulfinyl] benzimidazole. The inactive components in the tablets are citric acid, lactose monohydrate-microcrystalline cellulose sphere, methacrylic acid, mannitol, magnesium stearate, hydroxypropyl cellulose, triethyl citrate, magnesium carbonate, cropovidone, aspartame2, polyacrylate, artificial strawberry flavour, titanium dioxide, ferric oxide, polysorbate 80, polyethylene glycol and talc.

Prevacid is effective against heartburn and other conditions associated with gastro-oesophageal reflux disease. Physicians may prescribe a course of the medication for 8 weeks to treat all levels of erosive oesophagitis and may recommend a follow up treatment for another 8 weeks to prevent a recurrence of the disease.
