Macrodantin Drug Description
Macrodantin capsules are an oral medication drug that is primarily made of Nitrofurantoin Macrocrystals. This is a chemical that is yellowish in colour. The drug comes in various doses ranging from 25mg, 50mg to 100 mg. The drug also comprises of several other inactive ingredients like edible black ink, starch, titanium dioxide, gelatine, lactose, etc. The medicine may also come in a liquid form for younger patients or those not in a position to take whole tablets.

Some of the common and minor side effects include mild diarrhoea, change in the colour of urine to rust colour or brown, vaginal itching, upset stomach etc. These side effects may disappear on their own and are usually not a cause of concern unless they worsen with every passing hour. Another common side effect includes severe allergic reactions like skin hives, problems breathing, swelling on the face and inside the mouth, on the tongue or even nose.
