Lumigan Drug Description
Lumigan is a drug in the form of eye drops, which is primarily used to treat symptoms of glaucoma. This eye drop also helps to decrease pressure in the eyes by increasing the amount of fluid that is drained in your eyes. Although it is basically used as a medicine for glaucoma, this drug is also prescribed for the growth of healthy and new eyelashes. It promotes the length, volume and color of eyelashes.
The active ingredient in Lumigan is bimatoprost ophthalmic solution. This eye drop is used to treat patients with ocular hypertension as well as open angle glaucoma. This eye drop is also used to relieve pain caused in the eyes due to pressure by lowering the intraocular pressure. a.) Typical Dosage Recommendations
It is available in two dosages of bimatoprost ophthalmic solution- 0.01% and 0.03%. The dosage of this medicine depends upon the medical conditions of the patient. The doctor will advise on the process of administering the drops to your eyes. Maintain a regular time of administering the drops.
b.) Missing a Dose
If you miss a dose of the drug, use it as soon as you remember it. Wait for the next dose of the drops if the time for the next dose is fast approaching. Do not take the missed dose in this case.
