Lescol Drug Description
Lescol falls in the group of drugs called “Statins”. Lescol is an oral administration drug commonly used to lower high cholesterol levels and high levels of triglycerides in the body. Lescol primarily consists of Fluvastatin Sodium. It is a soluble agent that is whitish and pale yellow in colour. It is highly soluble in water, ethanol and methanol. It usually comes in the form of oral capsules with every capsule containing about 20 mg or 40 mg of Fluvastatin Sodium. Extended release tablets are also widely available containing up to 80 mg of Fluvastation Sodium. There are several inactive ingredients in the capsules too. Some of the common ones include Calcium Carbonate, Gelatin, Magnesium Stearate, Starch, Red Iron Oxide, Titamium Dioxide, etc.

Lescol Side Effects
It is common for Lescol to lead to some side effects in people. However in most cases the side effects are not severe and tend to subside once the body gets used to the medication. Some patients may suffer from headaches, diarrhea, indigestion, insomnia, symptoms of cold like running nose, sneezing, sore throat etc. These side effects are usually considered common though and do not necessarily require a doctor’s immediate attention unless they worsen.
