Enablex (darifenacin hydrobromide)
Enablex is a medicinal drug, which contains the chemical darifenacin, which is a medication that finds use in the treatment of urinary impotence. Darifenacin accomplishes this by blocking the M 3 muscarinic acetylcholine receptor, which holds responsibility for contractions of the bladder muscle. Thus, this leads to a decrease in the urgency to urinate.
Enablex, which contains darifenacin, is thus used in the reduction of muscle spasms of the urinary tract and of the bladder.
Conditions Treated by Enablex
As already mentioned, Enablex is primarily used in the treatment of urinary impotence. It works through the presence of darifenacin, which blocks the M 3 muscarinic acetylcholine receptor and thus regulates contractions of the bladder muscle. Enablex thus can be employed in reducing muscle spasms of the urinary tract and the bladder as well as to treat various symptoms of an overactive bladder such as urine leakage or incontinence and urgent or frequent urination. Enablex may also find application in treating a number of other medical conditions that are not mentioned here.
