Alomide allergy eye drops are used to reduce the symptoms associated with eye allergies such as red, itchy, watery and puffy eyes. Alomide contains the active ingredient Lodoxamide. Alomide eye drops work by reducing the allergic responses. The exact workings of Alomide are not completely understood it is believed that Lodoxamide works by stabilizing the immune cells called mast cells. By controlling these cells Lodoxamide can control the immune response to allergens e.g. the prevention of histamine from being released. Alomide allergy can take a few days to improve your symptoms. It can sometimes take up to four weeks to fully relieve symptoms with Alomide. If you have not improved by this time you should consult your doctor. Once your symptoms improve, you should continue to use Alomide eye drops regularly for as long as is needed to prevent the allergy.
