Nasonex Aqueous Dosage Information
a.) Typical Dosage Recommendations
Make sure you follow the exact prescription given by your doctor. Shake the nasal spray bottle well before you open it. You must first pump the spray by holding your thumb at the base of the bottle and your index and middle fingers around the applicator. Press down ten times to ready the spray for use. Once you notice a fine mist of medicine emerging from the spray it is ready to be used.
You should first blow your nose and clear up your nasal passageway. Next, close one nostril and inset the applicator of the spray into the other nostril, taking care not to point it towards your nasal septum. Press down on the sides of the applicator to release the medicine. Inhale gently so that you are sure of taking in all the medicine. After this you should exhale through your mouth. Follow the same process for your other nostril.
After you have finished using the spray clean the applicator properly, following the instructions on the box, and replace it in its place.
You must note down the number of times you use the spray as you will have to throw away the spray after you press the applicator 120 times.
Depending on your prescription you will need to use the spray once or twice daily.
b.) Missing a Dose
If you have missed a dose then you should be able to compensate by using the spray when you remember. Though there is no evidence of any serious risk of overdose you should still be wary if you remember your missed dose near the time of your next dose. In this case it is a good idea to simply proceed with the prescription and avoid taking extra medicine. Never increase or change your dose without your doctor’s advice.
c.) Overdosing
While there are no serious medical hazards currently associated with an overdose of Nasonex you should still be very careful about taking too much medication. Avoid exceeding the prescription given by your doctor so that you can stay safe.
